Dimensional Fissure in Six Samurais

Dimensional Fissure has seen huge success in the TCG due to the amount of Plant decks there.

An excellent example of a player having great success with it in Six Samurais would be Jake Quinsee.

He piloted his build of Dimensional Samurais to win the UK Nationals 2011 as well as the Battle of The Kingdoms 2011, both extremely high level events.

Here is a video of him explaining the deck.

Rather than spamming Synchros like Trishula with cards like Double-Edged Sword Technique,  Jake decided to improve his chances against his worst and most common match-up (Plants). By removing DEST,  he also improves his chances against Gravekeepers.

Many might say that Dimensional Fissure is useless against Gravekeepers, but Jake clearly explains how it helps against them in the video (GK Commandant, Recruiter, Stele).

Not only does Dimensional Fissure devastate Plant decks, it also counters most of the cards that would counter Six Samurais. Example of such are, Effect Veiler, Puppet Plant, Herald of Orange Light and Thunder King Rai-Oh.

Though not as common,  Dimensional Fissure also stops Honest in Light Gemini and Kalut in Blackwings. It also counters Grave BF, though less popular in the TCG due to the presence of Gravekeepers.

I am also liking Jake’s choice of 2 copies of Dimensional Prison in the Main Deck. Dimensional Prison is one of the least expected cards when playing against Six Samurais,  so it would definitely take his opponents by suprise.

Anyway,  it was a great meta call by Jake and I wish him the best of luck at Worlds.

Dimensional Fissure might see more play in OCG Six Samurai decks with the Dark World getting popular.
